Have you ever told your child–or someone you were mentoring–a truth and they just wouldn’t listen? And then someone else walks into their life, says the same thing and they suddenly embrace the same truth as the honest to goodness fact?
They say it takes a village…because no matter how good we are at parenting, our kids need to have the message of truth confirmed by other sources around them.
That is why we have partnered with the Sports and Leadership Kids Camp for years. Their summer-long program that develops their sports skills, leadership abilities and encourages their relationship with the Lord—has been that extra voice of confirmation parents have so thoroughly appreciated.
The camp is run by both teen volunteers and former professional sports players and is one of the only believing camps in the summer for that age group. Last year Maoz was able to sponsor several dozen kids as well as provide each family with a copy of the two children’s devotionals we had just completed translating into Hebrew, “Indescribable” and “How Great is Our God” by Louie Giglio.
These are tender years in a child’s heart and we want to sow spiritual seeds that will bear fruit in due season. So, this year we want to sponsor more children and offer all the children that attend a copy of the Action Bible in Hebrew!
Building up families is building something solid from the ground up. It is investing in the present and future at the same time.
There are at least 30 families waiting to hear that their child can attend. Would you consider sowing into Israel’s today and tomorrow? Would you give $100 to sponsor a child whose family cannot afford to send them?
